We are really fortunate to have a world-class school of computer science and engineering here in Seattle. The UW Computer Science and Engineering department’s work is ground-breaking and world-changing. You got to hear about one of these great projects a few weeks ago when Yaw Anokwa talked about his work.
I have invited a number of other researchers from the CSE program to visit and am honored to say that we will have four more visits in the next month. Here is the schedule:
May 5 | Brian Ferris | Ph.D. Student | One Bus Away: real-time arrival information for King County Metro bus routes |
May 12 | Ed Lazowska | Professor | Computing history and careers. Ed is former chair of the CSE department, co-chair of President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology |
May 20 | Richard Ladner | Professor | Accessibility technology research: especially technology for deaf, deaf-blind, hard-of-hearing, and blind people |
May 27 | Jon Froehlich | Ph.D. Student | Ubiquitous computing: advanced sensing systems enabling novel human-computer interactions |
