The nice people at Valve Software, makers of Portal 2 and Steam, “The Ultimate Online Game Platform,” have invited Roosevelt CS students to visit their studio.
We will have a field trip to Bellevue to spend part of a day with the software designers and developers at this company that probably needs no introduction. The trip will take place on May 18, which is an early release schedule day at Roosevelt.
We’ll go over there by bus, have a studio tour and lunch, and you will participate in a game level design workshop as well. Then we’ll come back to Roosevelt by bus. We’ll leave right after 4th period that day (at 9:15 am) and be back at RHS by about 2:15 pm. This means missing 5th and 6th periods that day.
Since space is limited, I’m giving first priority to all of the students in Intro to CS. If there is still space available after they have signed up, we’ll open it up to other students.
If you go, you will need to get excused from your other classes and permission slips signed, as is usual for field trips.
I’ll be passing around a signup sheet in class this week.
