Charles and Ray Eames were a husband and wife design team, working as The Eames Office in Los Angeles in the 1940-80s. In many ways, they are regarded as the most important designers in American history. They worked in art, architecture, film, photography, furniture, exhibits, toys, and information design.
There is a wonderful documentary film playing this week about them and their work, at Northwest Film Forum, on Cap Hill. If you are at all interested in design, I highly recommend seeing it.
