Roosevelt Mens Soccer triumphed last night over Skyline HS in a thrilling match out in Sammamish, capturing the KingCo 4A League Championship.
In regulation play, the Rough Riders tied the Spartans 1-1, with a fine goal by Sam Carpenter and some fantastic defensive play in a physical and fast-moving match.
After two sudden-death 5:00 overtime periods, the teams were still at 1-1. Penalty kicks decided the match in Roosevelt’s favor, and the visitor side of the stadium erupted.
